- If the Romans adopted the Greek gods after they conquered Greece, what was their religion beforehand? Or had they worshipped those gods from the start?(39 votes)
- I found your question intriguing so I went on a google search binge, by what i found and understood prior to conquering Greece, Rome was already a melting pot and had adopted various cultures and beliefs, they also believed in their own deities and spirits that possessed no embodiment. When they conquered the Greek they simply attached some of their god's legends and attributes to their own gods. In a sense they adopted what they considered was the best.
I hope my answer makes sense or is even somewhat right. If you'd like to check out some articles go to the following links:

- why was medicine important to the ancient Greeks?(12 votes)
- Medicine was an important study for the Greek culture because it had to do with the human body, and the Greeks loved, admired, and copied the human form constantly in their art and sculptures, and thus medicine was a way for them to learn more about the human anatomy.(17 votes)
- Why does the Roman and Greek sculpture show so much of the inside body? Why don't those citizen be embarrassed to show so much of the inside body<naked people i mean>?(4 votes)
- Because their society praised physical beauty. Nudity was something to be proud of, not embarrassed. A strong, healthy body was a sign that you were trying to be perfect.(21 votes)
- Does his sharpie ever run out of ink?!(3 votes)
- Yeah, it did. He changes sharpies if you rewatch and notice. He does part by part so probably changes his marker every part. He probably has like a hundred sharpies all next to him in case of an emergency! :3(7 votes)
- Just a small curiosity question. It says that the Romans enjoyed Greek art and culture so much that they adopted most of it as there own with changes. What was there art and culture like before the adaption of the Greek culture?(8 votes)
- Prior to the adoption of Greek styles and ideals of beauty, Roman art was heavily influenced by Etruscan and Italic art. The Etruscans were a dominant civilization on the Italian peninsula prior to their absorption into Rome following the Roman conquest in 264BC.(8 votes)
- Is the temple for Athena still around? Or was it destroyed?(4 votes)
- Yes, the Temple of Athena Nike (or most of it, anyway) still stands as on the Acropolis of Athens.(7 votes)
- Did the Greeks adopt some of their ways from the Egyptians?(6 votes)
- I have learned that they both learned from each other but, Egyptian's learned more from the Greece(2 votes)
- How was Rome formed? Was it the Trojans?(4 votes)
- According to mythology Rome was founded by two young boys, Romulus and Remus, who were raised by a female wolf, thus explaining why Rome was so dominant in warfare. A more historically accurate version is that Rome was a founded by a loose confederation of local city-states that allied to protect themselves from outside attack.(4 votes)
- If Athens and Sparta were enemy's before Persia invaded and Athens suffered major damages why did Sparta not conquer Athens while they were weak? It seems like it would have been the perfect time to attack while the Athenians were weak.(3 votes)
- What is the temple Athena Nike, is it for two goddesses? Nike is the goddess of victory and Athena is the goddess of war, weaving and planning. Also, Nike is a Roman, whereas Athena is Greek.

https://www.greekmythology.com/Olympians/Athena/athena.html(3 votes)- According to the site below, Nike is the Greek form. Victoria is the Roman. The temple Athena Nike was named that because Nike means victory in Greek. The temple was to worship victories over war thanks to Athena. I hope that helped!
